Research shows that playing specially designed games is more effective than patching. And of course, it's much more fun. By gaming, the lazy eye is trained, along with the good eye. This is important because good vision requires two eyes. With a modern phone in a VR headset, children can follow therapy at home.

A lazy eye, what is that?
Just as we cannot walk or talk at birth, our sight also needs to develop. A baby is born with eyes that can barely see. The child sees vague outlines lacking sharpness and depth and relies for now on smell, sound, and touch. However, the eyes, retina, nerve pathways, and brain are almost ready. Only a good interplay of these components leads to optimal eyesight. One of the problems that can hinder this development is amblyopia, or 'lazy eye'.
